I'd been on four dates with G before he moved to Wales. My mother was so thrilled I'd dated a man after so long that she convinced Dad to buy me a ticket to Europe to see him.
We went to London and Amsterdam, but I broke it off in Paris. My ex, who I was still secretly in love with, had moved there, and I had planned to rendezvous with her.

I was 40 when I met K, who was in his twenties. He was a cheeky stoner with a Cockney accent and took pride in the fact that his redheaded mum had married his Indian dad.
At times he lived in his Kombi van on Bondi Beach while trying to secure permanent residency. He must have got it, because I passed him recently. We said hello without stopping.

M and I had been on three dates before the COVID lockdown. He was young and beautiful, out of my league and out of the 5 km radius, so I locked down with someone else.
Later he feigned hurt that we hadn't made it work. Five years, and another boyfriend later, he reached out again. It's the longest sexual relationship I've had.
